WINTHORPE VILLAGE, Newark and Sherwood District Council has declared the result of the referendum on the adoption of the Winthorpe with Langford Neighbourhood Plan, held on Thursday 12 February 2026.
Voters were asked:
“Do you want Newark and Sherwood District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Winthorpe with Langford to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
Result (Declaration of Result of Poll):
- Total votes cast: 225
- YES: 205
- NO: 20
- Majority: 185
- Turnout: 37.82% (of an electorate of 595)
- Rejected ballot papers: 0
With a clear majority voting YES, the referendum has confirmed local support for the Neighbourhood Plan. The result was certified by the Counting Officer, John Robinson, at 22:30 on Thursday 12th February 2026.
What this means
The Neighbourhood Plan can now be used by Newark and Sherwood District Council to help guide planning decisions in the Winthorpe with Langford neighbourhood area.
